Each benefit that falls under this umbrella has it\u2019s own payment dates. Let\u2019s take a look at these financial assistance payments and how they work.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Benefits Under The FPT Umbrella<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With FPT payments, it\u2019s important to note that these are payments that you automatically qualify for with your annual income tax return. These include CGEB payments, Canada Child Benefit payments and some other provincial programs. These include provincial child benefits that are combined with your federal benefits also issued by the federal government.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These Payments are available to those who fall under the annual income threshold and meet the eligibility criteria which includes being at least 19 years of age. If you aren\u2019t 19, you had to have or had a spouse or common-law partner or you are or were a parent and your child lives or did live with you. You also have to be a Canadian resident.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a quarterly payment that is paid in January, April, July, and October. You could receive up to $679 as a single person, $890 as someone who\u2019s married or common-law and $234 for each child under the age of 19. This benefit is meant to help cover the costs of raising children. Those who are primarily responsible for the well being of children under the age of 18 and are a residen of Canada for tax purposes. That said, you\u2019re unable to get the CCB for a foster child in any month where Children\u2019s special allowances are payable.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2026, you can receive up to $8,157 per year for each child under the age of 6. For children over the age of 6, you can receive up to $6,883 per child per year. Any provincial payments that you also qualify are then added to this amount depending on which province you live in. These amounts are then split into tax-free monthly payments.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FPT Payment Dates<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you start receiving Canada Federal Provincial Territorial payments, when you receive them will be based on the which government benefits you qualify for. Here are the direct deposit payment dates for the Canada Child Benefit as well as the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit. Some of ther fall under other government deposits including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.springfinancial.ca\/blog\/lifestyle\/canada-fed-deposit-payment-dates\">Canada Fed Deposit<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.springfinancial.ca\/blog\/lifestyle\/canada-pro-deposit-payment-dates\">Canada Pro Deposit<\/a>. Many other tax credits fall under these including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.springfinancial.ca\/blog\/lifestyle\/ontario-trillium-benefit-otb-payment-dates\">Ontario Trillium Benefit<\/a> which includes the Northern Ontario Energy Credit, Ontario Sales Tax Credit, and the Ontario Energy and Property Tax Credit.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.springfinancial.ca\/apply-now?SID=blog&amp;utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=inlinebanner&amp;utm_content=canada-fpt-deposit-payment-dates\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1500px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1500\/581;display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" data-src=\"https:\/\/springfinancial.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/BlogBanner.png\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New Brunswick Harmonized Sales Tax Credit<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For those who have a low to modest income in New Brunswick, the New Brunswick Harmonized Sales Tax Credit is a tax-free quarterly payment to help offset tax increases. If your annual income is $35,000 or lower than you\u2019ll qualify for the full amount, If your annual income is over $35,000 the credit is then reduced by 2%of the ANI that is over.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you do qualify for the full amount, you could receive $300 for an individual, $300 for a spouse or common-law partner, $300 for the first child in a single parent household and $100 for each child under 19. This is just on e of the many provincial tax benefits that New Brunswick offers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Newfoundland and Labrador Income Supplement<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ths income supplement is a tax-free payment for those who are low income or have disabilities and may be impacted by additional provincial tax measures. There are many different factors that will determine the amount you receive, however, the main ones are your Adjusted Net Income as well as your family situation. That said, there are maximum payment amounts that you can receive. These are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>$520 for single individuals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$589 if you have a spouse or common-law partner<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$231 for each child under 19<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019re eligible for this amount, you\u2019ll automatically start receiving it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Newfoundland and Labrador Seniors Benefit<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This benefit is similar to the Newfoundland and Labrador Income Supplement, however, it\u2019s only meant for seniors. In order to qualify you must be at least 65 years of age or married or common-law with one person who\u2019s a senior.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can receive the full benefit if your annual income is $29,402 or lower. You can get partial benefits if your adjusted family net income is between $29,402 and $41,787.The total maximum benefit is $1,516 annually.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Northwest Territories Cost of Living Offset<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This non-taxable amount is intended to offset the&nbsp; cost of carbon tax for those who qualify. When it comes to the amounts you receive, everyone receives the same base amount or basic benefit. This is $416 per adult and $480 per child. The regional heating amounts are different for everyone. They\u2019re based on which zone you live in.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td>&nbsp;<\/td><td><strong>Zone 1<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Zone 2<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Zone 3<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Adult<\/td><td>$441<\/td><td>$451<\/td><td>$470<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Child<\/td><td>$505<\/td><td>$515<\/td><td>$534<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nova Scotia Affordable Living Tax Credit<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Nova Scotia Affordable Living Tax Credit is fully funded by the Nova Scotia government. It\u2019s a tax-free amount&nbsp; meaning it isn\u2019t considered taxable income for income tax purposes. It\u2019s offered to low and modest income residents that offset the HST increases. It\u2019s also meant to help provide additional income for those who need it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If your annual income is under $30,000, then you could receive the maximum annual amount which is $255 for an individual or couple and $60 per child. If your income is over $30,000 annually, then its reduced by 5% of the income that\u2019s over.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prince Edward Island Sales Tax Credit<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is another tax-free benefit that\u2019s meant to offset the tax increase. For those who earn under $30,000 you could receive an annual credit of $110 plus $55 for an eligible spouse or dependant. Those who earn over $30,000 could also receive a 0.5% supplement up to $55. If your family net income is over $50,000, then your amount will be reduced by 2% of the amount thats over.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Saskatchewan Low-Income Tax Credit<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like many of the provincial tax credits that we\u2019ve already discussed, the Saskatchewan Low-Income Tax Credit is fully refundable and designed to help supplement income of those with low and modest incomes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For 2026, the amounts for these benefits have been increase. The maximum adult component and the spouse\/equivalent component is now $429 each. The maximum amount for $169 per child with a maximum of $338 per family. You need an annual income below $38,590 in order to get the maximum amount. Eligible families can get a maximum of $1,196 annually.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Payment Dates for Canada FPT Provincial Payments<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since all of the provincial payments above are paid by the Canada Revenue Agency alongside the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit, they\u2019re all quarterly payments.
